This project comprises of a terrace quality modern houses with period detailing to the east of Romford town centre. CMI was engaged as architects at the design stage as the previously approved scheme could not be delivered on site. CMI undertook concept design, planning and technical design for the development.
CMI has years of experience working with small constrained urban sites and produced units with attractive 21st-century layouts with off street car parking and views into the gardens. CMI had to work within the constraints of the earlier consents to get approval for the new development of the site and planning was contentious. The planning officer was very specific and to achieve planning, the houses had to match other Victorian houses within the street.
The site makes excellent use of this brownfield site but gives new house owners all the modern facilities that would be expected with larger more suburban homes.
